The Bug-Out Bag List

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bug_out_bag:
A bug-out bag is a portable kit that contains the items one would require to survive for seventy-two hours when evacuating from a disaster. It is also known as a 72-hour kit, a grab bag, a battle box, and other popular names include GO Bag and GOOD (Get Out Of Dodge) bag. The focus is on evacuation, rather than long-term survival, distinguishing the bug-out bag from a survival kit, a boating or aviation emergency kit, or a fixed-site disaster supplies kit.

I started putting together my bug out bag years ago, and a couple of months before Hurricane Ike struck Houston in late 2008, it began evolving into an emergency preparedness kit. My wife Ange made fun of me for it at the time, but stopped laughing when the contents came in handy more than once during the week and a half without power after the hurricane.
